Job Description

The Indigo Road Hospitality Group (IRHG) is an esteemed hospitality company committed to fostering an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and equipped to deliver exceptional service. Founded in 2009 by Steve Palmer, IRHG operates over 30 locations, including a diverse range of restaurant concepts and boutique hotels. The company is recognized not only for its dedication to guest satisfaction but also for its philosophy of internal hospitality, which means taking care of its employees so they can, in turn, take excellent care of guests. IRHG has cultivated a culture that emphasizes growth opportunities, innovation, and collaboration, making it a desirable place for hospitality professionals seeking both career advancement and a supportive work atmosphere. Their comprehensive benefits include competitive compensation, health and wellness programs, financial planning assistance, and family-focused policies which speak to their commitment to employee well-being and work-life balance.

The role of Executive Chef at Oak Steakhouse Athens within the Indigo Road Hospitality Group presents an exciting leadership opportunity for a seasoned culinary professional passionate about both food and people. This position is designed for a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic kitchen environment and is dedicated to creating memorable dining experiences through exceptional cuisine. The Executive Chef will lead all kitchen operations, working closely with both the kitchen team and managerial staff to ensure the highest quality standards, efficient inventory and labor management, and adherence to health and safety protocols. As an ambassador of the IRHG culture, the Executive Chef will embody internal hospitality by nurturing a supportive, creative, and collaborative kitchen atmosphere.

Specific responsibilities include driving culinary innovation while maintaining excellent quality control, championing teamwork and staff development, and contributing to the overall financial success of the restaurant by managing budgets, forecasts, and labor costs effectively. The ideal candidate will have more than five years of kitchen management experience and a strong track record in menu creation. They will demonstrate a passion for cooking alongside the team rather than merely overseeing from a distance, valuing fresh, locally sourced ingredients and building relationships with local farmers to enhance the quality of the dishes served.

The Executive Chef role at Oak Steakhouse Athens is critical to the restaurant’s reputation and success, offering a rewarding environment where leadership in culinary excellence and employee engagement are equally prioritized. This position comes with competitive base pay, quarterly performance bonuses, and paid time off after 90 days, reflecting the organization’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding excellence. If you are a dedicated culinary leader eager to grow within a company that truly values its people, this role provides a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the hospitality industry.
