Job Description
Our company is a distinguished provider of food service operations, renowned for delivering high-quality culinary experiences in a fast-paced environment. We specialize in high-volume food service, catering to diverse dietary needs with a strong commitment to compliance, safety, and customer satisfaction. Our organization values professionalism, teamwork, and excellence, and strives to maintain the highest standards in food safety and operational management. As part of our commitment to inclusion, we are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourage applications from protected veterans and individuals with disabilities. Our environment is dynamic, offering opportunities to work with a dedicated and skilled team under strong leadership, ensuring both personal and professional growth within the food service industry.
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and motivated Kitchen Manager to join our team. This role is pivotal in directing daily food service operations, ensuring strict adherence to both the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP) standards. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for overseeing operational management, menu planning, and nutritional aspects aligned with USDA guidelines, while accommodating special diets. This position requires a strong knowledge of creating and writing catering and banquet menus to meet client and event needs. The role also demands rigorous compliance with food safety protocols, including HACCP, FDA Food Code, and OSHA regulations, alongside diligent maintenance of sanitation logs.
A critical part of this position involves effective staff supervision and training, where the Kitchen Manager will develop work schedules, guide kitchen staff and food service workers, and foster a productive team environment. Financial acumen is also essential, as the role entails managing food and labor costs, procurement processes, inventory control, and maintaining appropriate par levels. Quality assurance is a key focus, ensuring food quality and customer satisfaction through regular coordination with the Food and Beverage Director. Additionally, the Kitchen Manager must ensure the upkeep of kitchen equipment and facility cleanliness to maintain a safe and efficient workspace.
This role operates within a fast-paced kitchen environment requiring physical stamina, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. Candidates must be flexible to work a variable schedule, including potential night and weekend events. Reporting directly to the Food Service Director, the Kitchen Manager has supervisory responsibilities over the kitchen staff and food service workers. Candidates must also successfully pass background checks and comply with security requirements specified for the site.
This position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute leadership, expertise, and culinary excellence in a dynamic food service setting. If you are passionate about culinary arts, operational excellence, and team leadership, we welcome your application to join our committed team and grow your career with us.
