Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years culinary management experience
  • experience managing and writing prep lists
  • valid driver’s license
  • ability to perform occasional duties such as shift coverage and supply runs
  • experience managing inventory and cost control
  • experience working in a hands-on fast-paced environment
  • leadership experience identifying and developing employees
  • effective training facilitation skills
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • ability to stand and walk 8-10 hours per shift
  • able to reach, bend, balance, and lift up to 50 lbs
  • able to work in warm kitchen temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or culinary certificate preferred
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • experience facilitating and executing training effectively
  • excellent communication and organizational skills
  • proven ability to manage inventory and control kitchen costs
  • experience in fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environments
  • ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
  • bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • experience in upscale scratch kitchen concepts preferred
  • previous front-of-house restaurant management experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Accountable for operational excellence in the kitchen
  • delegates tasks and gives direction to all kitchen staff
  • conducts interviews with kitchen management and staff candidates
  • selects, orients, and continually develops all Sous Chefs and kitchen staff
  • prepares work schedule for Sous Chef and kitchen staff
  • maintains safety certification requirements for all kitchen staff
  • manages inventory, cost of goods, and overall financial controls
  • responsible for health inspections
  • supervises and facilitates all training for food preparation and menu execution
  • ensures proper timing and production for food orders
  • conducts ongoing performance appraisals for Sous Chefs and kitchen staff
  • enforces kitchen staff dress code standards
  • maintains product quality standards
  • maintains expected food costs and inventory
  • oversees or completes all prep lists and ordering guides
  • completes opening and closing checklists
  • manages maintenance and repairs of kitchen equipment and facility
  • proficient in working all kitchen stations
  • ensures a clean and safe environment for team members and guests
