Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- 2-year degree from accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary workplace language
- ability to create marketing strategies and promotional menu items with Chef to increase business volumes
- must have a positive attitude at all times and serve as a leader on the hotel’s Leadership Group

Job Duties
- Responsible for the development and enhancement of the food product presented to guests
- maintain quality of food product and ensure consistency in food delivery and standards
- support team goals by measuring performance through food and beverage profit and service metrics
- participate in long range planning
- select, train, and develop culinary personnel
- plan, assign, and direct work including appraising performance and addressing complaints
- review staffing levels to meet guest service and operational needs
- supervise and coordinate cooks and food preparation workers
- demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff
- develop and implement purchasing and receiving guidelines
- establish performance, budget, and team goals
- communicate and enforce safety procedures and codes
- manage controllable expenses including food cost and supplies
- negotiate with vendors for quality and pricing
- provide direction for menu development and food presentation
- recognize superior quality products and flavor
- improve service through coaching and feedback
- interact with guests for feedback on food quality and service
- empower employees for customer service and ensure ongoing training
- control kitchen operating expenses and manage profit margins
