Job Requirements

  • Degree in an applicable discipline or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 5 years experience in a senior operational role within a high-volume kitchen or food service environment
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Knowledge of food safety, preparation, and handling regulations
  • Ability to physically perform the role including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations like those from the Department of Health, EPA, and OSHA
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Experience negotiating with vendors
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
  • Able to manage and motivate teams of 50 or more
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience as an executive chef
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and industry best practices
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting and cost control
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Experience with data analysis, forecasting, workforce planning, and scheduling
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and present findings

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the commissary kitchen and food catering services
  • Oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance management
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety and quality standards
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Manage inventory control and vendor negotiations regarding pricing and quality
  • Lead culinary development and innovation initiatives
  • Coordinate special events department for private and corporate gatherings
