Job Requirements
- Degree in an applicable discipline or equivalent professional experience
- At least 5 years experience in a senior operational role within a high-volume kitchen or food service environment
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Knowledge of food safety, preparation, and handling regulations
- Ability to physically perform the role including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations like those from the Department of Health, EPA, and OSHA
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong data analysis skills
- Experience negotiating with vendors
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
- Able to manage and motivate teams of 50 or more
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience as an executive chef
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and industry best practices
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting and cost control
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Experience with data analysis, forecasting, workforce planning, and scheduling
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and present findings
Job Duties
- Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the commissary kitchen and food catering services
- Oversee staff scheduling, training, and performance management
- Ensure strict compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
- Manage inventory control and vendor negotiations regarding pricing and quality
- Lead culinary development and innovation initiatives
- Coordinate special events department for private and corporate gatherings
