Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Culinary certification obtained within 90 days of employment
- Serve Safe certification obtained within 60 days of hire
- Minimum three years of experience in food service management preferred
- Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate culinary staff
- Knowledge of hospital sanitation and health regulations
- Strong leadership and communication skills

Job Duties
- Directly responsible for food preparation for patients, cafeteria, doctors' dining room, and special requests
- Develop and implement work standards, sanitation procedures, and personal hygiene requirements in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
- Inspect food preparation, serving areas, equipment and storage facilities to ensure health regulation compliance and take corrective measures when needed
- Manage physical assets including equipment and supplies during shifts and handle found personal property according to security protocols
- Participate with Director and Clinical Nutrition Manager in menu planning
- Determine accurate quantity and type of foods to be prepared
- Exhibit proficiency in culinary techniques
- Perform duties assigned by supervisor cooperatively and timely
- Serve as department role model and ensure highest level of customer service
- Supervise and prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner meals, and special functions
- Supervise hot production staff including hiring, training, counseling, and evaluating
- Conduct scheduled meetings with staff
- Coordinate staff scheduling and assignments to ensure economical and timely food preparation
- Perform other duties as assigned
