The current role centers on maintaining and administering culinary and nutrition services within CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region facilities. This position plays a vital part in ensuring that patients and guests receive high-quality nutritional care aligned with established service standards. The individual in this role will be responsible for operational management and oversight of staff members involved in food and nutrition services, including those in non-interactive patient positions such as cooks and storeroom clerks.

Responsibilities include conducting sanitation and performance audits, facilitating staff education and training, and ensuring compliance with purchasing agreements and regulatory standards. The role involves frequent patient rounding to monitor and enhance patient satisfaction with nutritional services. Collaboration with other departments is crucial to maintaining integrated nutrition programs that meet regulatory requirements. The position also demands adept staffing management, including recruitment, scheduling, and performance evaluation to maintain cost efficiency and high service quality.

Additionally, the role involves active participation in menu development for patient meals, cafeteria services, and catering events, emphasizing culinary excellence, innovation, sustainability, and food waste reduction. The person will manage special event catering and may travel between campuses as needed to support these functions. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Strong communication skills including ability to read, write and speak English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred, commensurate experience considered
  • Food Service Safe Certification (CPFS) preferred
  • Medium work physical requirements with ability to exert up to 50lbs occasionally and up to 20lbs frequently
