Job Description

Pacifica Hotels is a renowned hospitality company that prides itself on providing exceptional experiences across its diverse properties. Known for its commitment to quality and guest satisfaction, Pacifica Hotels operates a variety of hotels and restaurants that cater to both leisure and business travelers. With a strong emphasis on creating memorable stays, the company blends excellent service with well-curated dining and accommodation options. It fosters a supportive and professional environment for its staff, encouraging growth and innovation. One of its flagship properties, the Marina del Rey Hotel, is home to SALT Restaurant & Bar, a celebrated dining destination known for its seasonally inspired and locally sourced Californian cuisine. Positioned ideally with stunning 360-degree waterfront views, SALT Restaurant invites guests to experience the freshest ingredients through innovative and modern American dishes served throughout the day—breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant has earned a reputation among Marina del Rey eateries for both its culinary creativity and attentive service. Pacifica Hotels is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Chef for SALT Restaurant. This executive role is crucial to maintaining the restaurant's reputation for excellence while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability. The Executive Chef will work closely with a dedicated team to deliver high-quality food promptly, meeting the expectations of both restaurant patrons and hotel guests. This leadership position demands a creative culinary professional who can oversee menu development, cost control, staffing, and supplier relations while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and kitchen sanitation. Beyond the kitchen, the Executive Chef will play a pivotal role in managing back-of-house operations, including equipment maintenance and sanitation compliance according to health department regulations. Leading by example, the Executive Chef will maintain a positive, courteous demeanor and foster effective communication within the team and with guests. This position requires strong financial acumen as the Executive Chef will have direct responsibility for controlling food costs and the department's profit and loss, ensuring alignment with budget goals. The role also involves active participation in meetings, collaboration with other departments, and contribution to the overall success of both the restaurant and hotel. Pacifica Hotels values teamwork and community engagement, encouraging its employees to participate in volunteer activities and charitable events. Alongside a competitive salary ranging from $110,000 to $120,000 annually based on experience, the Executive Chef position includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid vacation and sick leave. Additionally, team members enjoy travel perks including exclusive rates at sister properties, promoting work-life balance and professional development. This opportunity is ideal for a creative and collaborative culinary professional eager to make a significant impact on the LA dining scene by leading one of the region's top waterfront restaurants. Joining Pacifica Hotels means becoming part of a team that values quality, innovation, and community involvement, providing a rewarding and engaging career path for the right Executive Chef.
