The Executive Chef role at Greek House Chefs is pivotal in managing all culinary operations within the GHC Kitchen they are assigned to. This leadership position oversees menu planning, staff management, product purchasing, and budget administration. The Executive Chef functions as the main point of communication between the kitchen, house management, and GHC corporate to guarantee client satisfaction and smooth kitchen operations. They are responsible for ensuring that all food preparation and kitchen cleanliness exceed GHC’s rigorous health and sanitation standards. This position demands a minimum weekly commitment of 45-50 hours and includes responsibilities such as scheduling staff, monitoring quality control, training employees, and managing technological tools like the GHC App for menu submissions and budget tracking. The Executive Chef also coordinates special events planning, vendor relations, and ongoing staff development to maintain high culinary standards and operational excellence throughout their tenure. Candidates must possess strong leadership qualities, demonstrate critical thinking, and have the ability to work collaboratively with chefs, students, and management teams to uphold the organizational mission and client expectations.

Job Requirements
- Serv Safe Certification within first available class following employment
- Maintain Serv Safe Certification throughout employment
- Valid food handler’s card if required by state
- Minimum 2-3 years experience as lead sous or executive chef or culinary degree
- Ability to stand over two-thirds of the time
- Ability to walk over two-thirds of the time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work 45-50 hours weekly
- Ability to maintain professional appearance in chef attire
- Openness to transfer to other worksites as needed
- Strong problem sensitivity, manual dexterity, and speech clarity
Job Qualifications
- 2-3 years lead sous or executive chef experience
- Culinary degree preferred
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals in English
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups and one-on-one
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety procedures
- Ability to communicate with chefs and students
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to monitor and assess performance

Job Duties
- Ensures overall health of the account is positive and in good standing
- Plans and directs food preparation and culinary activities
- Modifies menus or creates new ones that meet quality standards
- Recruits and manages kitchen staff
- Purchases and orders food supplies while managing budget
- Manages employee schedules and hours
- Manages the GHC App
- Ensures cleanliness of the kitchen meets and exceeds GHC health and equipment cleaning standards
- Makes inspections to observe quality of food preparation, service, and cleanliness
- Coordinates all training activities for kitchen and service employees
- Follows proper equipment request procedures
- Develops recipes and portion specifications according to GHC standards
- Creates and submits menu two weeks ahead for approval
- Submits budget weekly via GHC App on time
- Checks weekly app reviews with Campus Manager
- Schedules and attends food committee reviews monthly
- Maintains professional appearance and attire
- Works a minimum of 45-50 hours weekly
- Receives and inspects food deliveries for quantity and quality
- Plans and attends up to 3 special events per semester
- Maintains positive relationships with vendors and clients
- Implements and trains on account-specific service procedures
- Monitors schedule and time management of all staff
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of GHC Handbook
- Transfers to other worksites as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
