Citizens Care, located in Frederick, MD, is a vibrant senior living community serving 150 residents across skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and memory care units. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Executive Chef to join our team at Citizens Care. This role presents a remarkable opportunity to advance your culinary career within a dynamic and rewarding senior living setting. The Executive Chef will play a pivotal leadership role by overseeing the culinary operations, inspiring a team of 13 hourly employees including cooks and kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food production, quality, and safety are maintained. The typical work schedule features shifts from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with variations for closing shifts and rotating weekend coverage to meet the needs of the community.
As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for implementing and standardizing culinary systems and procedures that enhance operational efficiency and resident satisfaction. This includes managing catering, garnishing, panning charts, production processes, puree standardization, food management system sheets, inventory control, HACCP compliance, cleaning schedules, staffing plans, food presentation, and kitchen safety and cleanliness. A hands-on approach to leadership is essential, as you will train, mentor, and develop your culinary team to foster professional growth and deliver superior service.

Job Requirements
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- minimum 2 years management experience
- at least 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts
- strong culinary background with prior healthcare experience
- proven ability to lead, develop and train a culinary team
- excellent time management and organizational skills
- strong customer service and communication abilities
- working knowledge of HACCP and experience with health and safety audits

- train, mentor, and develop the culinary team through a hands-on leadership approach
