Job Description

Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences and innovative hotel services. One of its distinguished brands, Courtyard by Marriott, caters specifically to business travelers by providing thoughtfully designed spaces and tailored amenities that meet the needs of modern professionals. The Courtyard brand embodies a passion for delivering outstanding service and creating environments where guests feel empowered, whether traveling for business or leisure. Marriott fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace culture where associates from all backgrounds are welcomed and encouraged to thrive, aligning with the company's values of respect, integrity, and teamwork.

The position available is a full-time, non-management role located at the Courtyard hotel at 651 Fountain Rd, Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania. The hourly wage is $17.80, reflecting a competitive compensation for an administrative role within the hospitality sector. The job involves a dynamic blend of administrative responsibilities and guest service duties focused mainly on event coordination and sales support.

The role primarily involves verifying the planning and execution of events on the property, ensuring that every event runs smoothly and meets guest expectations. The candidate will serve as the main point of contact for guests organizing or attending meetings at the hotel, providing seamless communication and support throughout their visit. This includes acting as the liaison between the hotel’s Group Sales Office and area Sales teams, facilitating information flow and collaboration to enhance sales effectiveness.

Part of the job requires gathering, developing, and submitting materials to update Marriott's property websites, ensuring that online content is accurate and up to date. Additionally, the individual will handle various administrative tasks delegated by the General Managers on site, requiring flexibility, organization, and attention to detail.

In this role, the candidate must consistently uphold Marriott’s policies and procedures, maintain a professional appearance, and protect company assets and confidential information. Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, as the employee will welcome guests according to company standards, anticipate and respond to their service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation to guests. Clear and professional verbal communication is required, along with precise and timely preparation and review of written documents, and appropriate telephone etiquette.

The role demands physical stamina as prolonged periods of standing, sitting, or walking are expected. The candidate must be capable of moving, lifting, transporting, pushing, dragging, and placing objects weighing up to 10 pounds (4.5 kilograms) without assistance. The ability to perform other reasonable work-related tasks as requested by supervisors is also part of the position.

At Marriott International, there is strong emphasis on equality of opportunity and a welcoming environment where diversity is celebrated. The company is committed to non-discrimination laws protecting veterans, individuals with disabilities, and others with protected characteristics, reflecting a workplace culture grounded in respect and inclusion. Joining Courtyard by Marriott means becoming part of a prestigious portfolio under Marriott International, offering opportunities for personal growth, professional development, and the chance to contribute to a global team dedicated to service excellence. This position provides a platform for individuals passionate about delivering superior guest experiences and eager to grow their careers in the hospitality industry.
