The role of the Events & Production Manager is pivotal within Legends Global, acting as the primary client liaison responsible for guiding events from initial planning stages through to flawless execution. This position is based on-site in Tucson, AZ, and demands a dynamic individual who can expertly navigate the complexities of event coordination and technical production. The Events & Production Manager is tasked with a full range of responsibilities, including preparing accurate cost estimates, overseeing event operations, and ensuring strict adherence to contracts, company policies, and deadlines. They work closely with clients to interpret contract provisions and address any concerns, ensuring satisfaction and clarity at every step.

In addition to client management, the manager coordinates with various internal departments to maintain facility readiness and facilitate client success. This encompasses overseeing floor plans, room setups, insurance requirements, and maintaining comprehensive event records. The position also involves direct engagement with live entertainment productions, providing technical advancement and logistical coordination for complex shows held in multiple venues. This requires supervising technical crews, booking local labor for stage setups, rigging, lighting, and audio/visual needs, as well as managing preventive maintenance for all audio-visual equipment.

The technical dimension of this role is significant, requiring familiarity with sophisticated systems such as Q-Sys, Dante Audio Networks, ETC Paradigm controls, mixing consoles, intercom systems, theatrical lighting, and video equipment. Ensuring safety compliance and regular equipment inspections align with OSHA workplace regulations is vital. The manager also supervises event coordinators and schedules repairs to maintain high standards of operational effectiveness.

This position demands flexibility with work hours, including availability during evenings, weekends, and long working hours leading up to and during events. Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, sports-management, production, or related field preferred
  • 2-4 years' experience in production management in corporate meetings, entertainment, theater, arena or equivalent
  • Proficiency in audio/visual operations, rigging, and technical production systems
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, event software, and venue management systems
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing event requirements
  • Experience managing production for a multi-venue facility
  • Excellent math skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with rigging preferred
  • Technical proficiency in stage lighting, sound, and video systems preferred
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional presentation and work ethic
  • Ability to adjust work schedules to coincide with events
  • Trade skills a plus (electrical, rigging, etc.)
  • Advanced understanding of network infrastructure as it relates to audio-visual needs
  • AutoCAD experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, guiding them through event planning, preparation, and execution
  • Interpret and explain contract provisions, policies, and procedures to clients
  • Prepare cost estimates, oversee billing, and ensure adherence to deadlines
  • Monitor event operations, maintain close communication with clients, and promptly address concerns
  • Organize and prioritize workload to meet stringent event schedules
  • Ensure all event details, including floor plans, room setups, and insurance requirements, are finalized
  • Maintain thorough and complete event records
  • Lead and/or attend planning, organization and facility meetings in support of facility operations
  • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication of directives to other departments to assure facility readiness and client success
  • Work directly with live entertainment and corporate productions, managing technical, A/V production, rigging, facility logistics and hospitality requirements
  • Supervise booking and supervision of crew for events through local labor including stage setups, rigging, audio/visual, and lighting
  • Manage preventive maintenance and repairs for all audio/visual equipment, maintaining service records and inventories
  • Coordinate scheduling of stage equipment repair, annual inspections, safety checks, and maintenance
  • Ensure adherence to safety and OSHA workplace regulations relating to event production performances
  • Supervise work schedules for Event Coordinators
