The department is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse environment, providing high-quality educational programs, and supporting innovative research initiatives that contribute to the field of dermatology and overall healthcare advancement.
The University of New Mexico is currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Events Planner to join the Dermatology Administration team. This part-time, term staff position (Position Grade 11) offers an exempt status with a competitive monthly salary range of $3,802.93 to $5,097.73 and includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as educational benefits through tuition remission and dependent education programs. The role is benefits eligible and requires successful completion of a background check as a condition of employment.
The Events Planner will play a critical role in leading the planning, coordination, and execution of a diverse portfolio of academic, educational, and professional events within the clinical and academic healthcare environment of the Dermatology Department. The incumbent will serve as a key liaison among faculty, clinicians, researchers, learners, industry partners, and institutional stakeholders to develop and deliver high-quality educational programs. These include conferences, symposia, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME) activities designed to support professional development and healthcare education.
This position requires expertise in event management combined with an understanding of healthcare, academic medicine, and professional education requirements. The Events Planner will be responsible for developing detailed event timelines, project plans, and budgets; coordinating logistics such as venue selection, catering, audiovisual support, and registration systems; and managing both in-person and virtual/hybrid event formats effectively.
