This position is vital to ensuring that all contracted events run smoothly, meeting and exceeding client expectations while maintaining the casino's high standards for guest service and profitability. The Event Planner/Manager will be the key liaison between clients and various departments within the property, coordinating efforts to reflect the client’s vision accurately while suggesting enhancements that drive revenue and guest satisfaction. The role demands strong communication skills to manage details with clients and internal teams, project management skills to handle multiple events simultaneously, and the ability to advocate for both the property and the client to find balanced and profitable event solutions. Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in event management, business, or a related field, plus one to three years of hospitality industry experience, are ideally suited for this position. Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, and event management software such as Salesforce, Delphi, and Sertifi is essential. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in event management, business or related field
  • one to three years experience in hospitality industry
  • knowledge of casino industry and/or hotel and resort hospitality preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • computer proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, Salesforce, Delphi, Sertifi
  • strong project management skills
  • ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in event management, business, or related field
  • one to three years experience in hospitality industry
  • broad understanding of managing all aspects of meetings and catered events
  • proven history of sales and service showcasing understanding of guest service and revenue growth
  • knowledge of casino industry and/or hotel and resort hospitality related to group sales preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • computer skills focused on Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, Salesforce, Delphi, Sertifi
  • strong project management skills
  • managing multiple simultaneous projects

Job Duties

  • Communicate all details surrounding a group event to property in advance of arrival
  • initiate and conduct planning meetings with clients to understand their vision for the event
  • coordinate with appropriate department managers to ensure requests are understood and able to be successfully executed
  • create banquet event orders and group resumes accurately reflecting client expectations
  • prioritize accurate and timely communication with clients and property
  • advocate for both property and client ensuring successful and profitable recommendations
  • lead or participate in departmental meetings including BEO, resume, pre and post cons
  • work closely with banquets, culinary, hotel and other leadership to ensure arrangements are executed as contracted
  • confirm groups method of payment is verified and review group invoice following the event
  • maintain integrity of the client database
  • generate ideas and initiatives to develop existing accounts and identify new business
  • communicate strategies to director of sales and sales managers
  • build and retain client relations resulting in exceptional guest service and repeat business
  • engage in a sales-focused atmosphere promoting sales growth
  • maintain knowledge of competitors sales and convention programs
  • maintain knowledge of all promotions throughout the property
  • maintain a positive professional image at all times
  • perform all related duties as assigned by department leadership
  • create opportunities to upsell during event planning
  • ensure synchronicity through planning for operational efficiencies and profitability
  • follow standards to ensure profitability targets are met
  • create an atmosphere that meets or exceeds guest expectations
  • set a positive example for team members and guests
  • interact with guests to obtain feedback
  • respond to and handle situations requiring service recovery
  • strive to improve service performance
  • emphasize guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement
