The Event Manager position is a full-time, management-level role based at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel. Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in event management or related professional area

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years experience in event management or related area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with at least 1 year experience in event management or related area

Job Duties

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments and customers
  • Ensure seamless event progression by following established procedures and collaborating with employees
  • Greet customers during the event phase and transition to Event Operations team
  • Adhere to all standards, policies and procedures
  • Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients prior to final processing
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting spaces for average to large groups
  • Identify and solve operational challenges with property staff and customers
  • Use judgment to integrate current event management trends and design
  • Act as liaison between sales team and customer throughout event process
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
  • Solicit feedback from property departments to improve Event Planner experience
  • Deliver and encourage excellent customer service throughout event phases
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Set positive example for guest relations
  • Communicate event details clearly to customer and property operations
  • Oversee customer experience from file turnover through post event and back to sales
  • Follow up with customer post-event
  • Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints

  • Lead pre- and post-event meetings for assigned groups
  • Facilitate meetings as necessary (Banquet Event Order meeting, block review, etc.)

  • Develop and implement corrective action plans
  • Take initiative to improve service performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
