Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of experience in event management or related professional area
- Ability to manage group room blocks and meeting spaces
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Capability to solve operational challenges
- Knowledge of event management procedures and standards
- Willingness to work full time at Renaissance Dallas Hotel in Dallas, Texas
- Ability to conduct pre- and post-event meetings
- Proficiency in customer service and conflict resolution
- Experience in assisting sales process and revenue forecasting
- Commitment to follow all policies and procedures
- Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years experience in event management or related area
- OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major with at least 1 year experience in event management or related area
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead and coordinate teams
- Knowledge of current event management trends
- Customer service oriented
- Proficient in managing event logistics and operations
- Experience in sales support and revenue forecasting
- Ability to handle guest complaints and enhance customer experience
- Leadership skills for conducting meetings and coaching employees
Job Duties
- Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments and customers
- Ensure seamless event progression by following established procedures and collaborating with employees
- Greet customers during the event phase and transition to Event Operations team
- Adhere to all standards, policies and procedures
- Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients prior to final processing
- Manage group room blocks and meeting spaces for average to large groups
- Identify and solve operational challenges with property staff and customers
- Use judgment to integrate current event management trends and design
- Act as liaison between sales team and customer throughout event process
- Participate in customer site inspections and assist with sales process
- Solicit feedback from property departments to improve Event Planner experience
- Deliver and encourage excellent customer service throughout event phases
- Empower employees to provide excellent customer service
- Set positive example for guest relations
- Communicate event details clearly to customer and property operations
- Oversee customer experience from file turnover through post event and back to sales
- Follow up with customer post-event
- Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints
- Use expertise to enhance customer experience
- Lead pre- and post-event meetings for assigned groups
- Facilitate meetings as necessary (Banquet Event Order meeting, block review, etc.)
- Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
- Up-sell products and services during event process
- Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees
- Provide feedback on service behaviors
- Develop and implement corrective action plans
- Take initiative to improve service performance
- Perform other duties as assigned
