Job Description

SOAR365 is a well-established nonprofit organization with a proud history spanning over 70 years dedicated to supporting individuals and families living with disabilities. Rooted deeply in the Greater Richmond community, SOAR365 offers a range of innovative programs and compassionate services designed to meet the unique needs of people with disabilities at every stage of life. Serving more than 2,000 individuals and their families, the organization focuses on employment services, therapy, respite care, and inclusive recreation, helping people of all abilities to thrive and achieve their fullest potential. SOAR365 is recognized not only for its impactful community services but also as an Employer of Choice, committed to fostering a supportive work environment where employees feel valued, empowered, and connected to meaningful work. The organization offers competitive benefits, professional development opportunities, and promotes a culture of respect and inclusivity.

The Events Coordinator position at SOAR365 presents an exciting opportunity for an organized, creative, and relationship-oriented professional to play a key role in expanding the organization's community engagement and fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Community Engagement team, the Events Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a diverse array of events that align with SOAR365’s fundraising goals, donor engagement, employee recognition, community awareness, and inclusive recreation programs. This full-time role requires managing major fundraising events as well as coordinating smaller donor, staff appreciation, and community-building events throughout the year.

In this role, the Events Coordinator will develop strategies and set measurable objectives in collaboration with the Director of Annual Giving to ensure each event’s success. They will handle all logistical aspects including budgeting, vendor management, contracts, licenses, and compliance documentation. The coordinator will also continually monitor event performance and provide detailed reports on outcomes to internal stakeholders to facilitate ongoing improvement. This role is instrumental in nurturing and sustaining relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, thereby strengthening SOAR365’s visibility and support across the Greater Richmond area.

Additionally, the Events Coordinator will support Human Resources with employee recognition initiatives such as the annual Awards Banquet and employee appreciation events, collaborating closely with marketing, facilities, and program teams to ensure seamless execution. They will lead inclusive play events under the PARK365 initiative by partnering with community organizations, and support volunteer and intern engagement to enhance service delivery and event success. Leadership responsibilities include guiding the Next Generation Council’s membership recruitment and fundraising initiatives, expanding SOAR365’s emerging donor base.

This role demands a dynamic individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment juggling multiple priorities. Proficiency in event management tools, email marketing platforms, and database software is preferred. As the position requires travel to off-site venues and community activities, flexibility for occasional evening and weekend hours is necessary. The Events Coordinator will help elevate SOAR365’s mission through thoughtfully designed and executed events that bring people together and advance inclusion, awareness, and support for individuals with disabilities.
