Job Description

The Ritz-Carlton is a globally renowned luxury hospitality brand that is part of Marriott International's portfolio. With over 100 award-winning properties worldwide, The Ritz-Carlton is synonymous with exceptional service, refined elegance, and a commitment to creating unforgettable experiences for its guests. As a leader in the luxury hotel industry, The Ritz-Carlton prides itself on its dedication to delivering excellence in guest care and comfort. The company values diversity and inclusiveness, fostering an environment where the unique backgrounds and talents of its associates are celebrated and respected. It is committed to equal opportunity employment, ensuring a welcoming and supportive workplace for all employees, regardless of disability, veteran status, or any other protected classification under applicable law.

Joining The Ritz-Carlton means becoming part of a distinguished team of hospitality professionals who are empowered to be creative, thoughtful, and compassionate in their roles. Their culture is anchored in the "Gold Standards" which include the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values. These standards form the foundation for the brand's reputation as a global leader in luxury hospitality, guiding employees to deliver service that is gracious, thoughtful, and consistently excellent. The company offers associates the opportunity to take pride in their work and thrive within a supportive global community.

The role of Meeting Group Coordinator/Host(ess) is vital in ensuring the seamless execution of group functions and events at The Ritz-Carlton. This position involves coordinating with group coordinators or hosts before functions to make introductions and confirm that all event arrangements meet expectations. A key responsibility is to review banquet event orders meticulously to gather guest information, assess the appropriate set up, confirm timelines, and understand specific guest needs including buffets and action stations. The coordinator plays a proactive role in responding to special banquet event requests and ensuring compliance with those arrangements. In addition to event coordination, the role requires adherence to all company safety and security policies, prompt reporting of accidents or unsafe conditions, and completion of required safety training and certifications.

The Meeting Group Coordinator/Host(ess) must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, ensure confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. High standards of guest service are mandatory, including welcoming guests warmly, anticipating and addressing their service needs, and showing genuine appreciation. Communication skills are essential, as the role includes clear and professional verbal interactions and telephone etiquette. The coordinator supports a positive team environment, working collaboratively to achieve common goals and uphold quality standards.

This position also demands physical capability to stand, sit, walk for prolonged periods, move and lift objects up to 25 pounds, and navigate various physical environments such as narrow or slippery spaces and stairs. Attention to detail in inspecting equipment and verifying information visually is important, as is the willingness to perform other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors. This non-supervisory role requires at least one year of related work experience and a high school diploma or GED equivalent. While no specific licenses or certifications are required, the ability to work effectively within a world-class luxury hospitality environment is critical.

In summary, the Meeting Group Coordinator/Host(ess) at The Ritz-Carlton is an essential member of a prestigious luxury hotel team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and memorable guest experiences through meticulous event coordination, professional communication, and unwavering commitment to the brand's Gold Standards.
