The Event Staff role within the Sales & Services department at Legends Global presents an exciting on-call, non-exempt position reporting to the Event Manager and Event & Box Office Coordinator. This position plays a critical customer-facing role in the successful execution of live events, acting as key support during the event operations to ensure seamless guest experiences. The responsibilities of the Event Staff include verifying the authenticity of admission tickets, passes, or credentials using various computerized and manual methods, accurately accounting for tickets, passes, and credentials collected, and enforcing event admission policies professionally and tactfully. The Event Staff also manage coat check services, sell and distribute parking passes and tickets, and handle cash and credit card transactions with precision, including balancing cash drawers and managing change. They provide guest services by offering general information about events, the venue, and the surrounding Lansing region to enhance the overall visitor experience.

This role demands a high energy and enthusiastic individual who is comfortable working in a busy, diverse, and sometimes fast-paced environment. The candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be reliable, and have strong attention to detail. Physical demands include standing or sitting for extended periods, and handling objects weighing up to 10 pounds. The position requires basic math and computer skills and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor under varying conditions, including outdoor weather elements and crowded venues. Job Duties

  • Verify authenticity of admission tickets, passes, or credentials by reading and/or use of computerized equipment
  • follow event guidelines and accurately collect tickets, passes, or credentials for admission
  • provide accurate accounting of tickets or passes collected using ticketing scanners, turnstiles, and/or hand counting
  • determine when to deny access to an event as instructed by event management
  • serve as coat check attendant by receiving cash, issuing tickets, caring for and redistributing coats and accessories
  • sell, distribute, and account for parking passes
  • sell, distribute, and account for tickets through computerized ticketing program or hard tickets
  • accurately and efficiently handle cash and credit card payment transactions including making change
  • balance cash drawer to ticket allotment and provide accurate accounting of tickets sold
  • provide general information regarding the event, facility, and Lansing region
  • adhere to Legends Global procedures and safety guidelines
  • communicate effectively in a polite and courteous manner
  • adhere to department dress code
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • observe facility including equipment, personnel, and general activity, and share observations with event management to maintain superior facility function
