Job Description

Lucky Strike Entertainment is a leading name in the location-based entertainment industry, known for its upscale and traditional bowling centers, waterparks, amusement parks, and family entertainment centers. Established in 1997, the company has grown exponentially from a single bowling center to a renowned powerhouse with over 360 bowling centers, 5 waterparks, a major amusement park in California, and 10 family entertainment Boomers centers across major markets. This growth is supported by an impressive team of 14,000 associates generating nearly $1.4 billion in annual revenue. At its core, Lucky Strike is deeply rooted in hospitality, focusing on delivering memorable experiences for every guest during every visit.

Joining Lucky Strike means becoming part of a passionate, winning team dedicated to excellence and continuous growth. The company prides itself on fostering sustained career growth and opportunity for its associates, offering a supportive environment where talent and commitment are highly valued. Employment at Lucky Strike comes with abundant rewards, including competitive benefits and a culture that encourages personal and professional development. The company operates on a high standard of professionalism and presence, exemplified by its camera-first policy for all client and internal communications, reflecting its polished and executive brand image.

The Event Sales Specialist role is an exciting position within Lucky Strike’s core team, primarily stationed at the Oxnard or Moorpark locations with a hybrid work setting. This role is crucial in managing the entire sales cycle for a diverse range of events, including corporate outings, social gatherings, and organizational meetings for groups ranging from 13 to 100 guests. Unlike purely inbound sales roles, the Event Sales Specialist is proactive in building a sales pipeline, working local territories, and fostering lasting relationships that result in repeat business year after year.

The responsibilities of this role are extensive and multifaceted: managing inbound leads, conducting outbound outreach, matching clients to appropriate venues and packages based on their specific needs and budgets, and maintaining high-volume event sales across various event types without dropping the ball. Additionally, the specialist is expected to independently develop new business in their territory by fostering relationships with companies and community groups, thereby sustaining a robust pipeline beyond inbound leads.

Financially, the role is performance-driven with a quarterly quota system that rewards high achievement with tiered commissions, motivating the specialist to excel continuously. The specialist will also pass certain leads to designated teams based on group size and client profile, earning corresponding quota credits. Ownership of the event experience is critical, requiring the specialist to lead Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings and partner closely with venue operations teams to ensure flawless event execution from contract to celebration.

Central to the role is guest retention and relationship management, involving follow-ups post-event to strengthen bonds and generate repeat bookings, particularly important within the varied event types such as corporate buyouts and birthday parties. Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and holidays is also required as these are peak periods for event activity.

Ideal candidates bring backgrounds in sales, hospitality, or event planning, with strong skills in managing multiple events simultaneously and confidently pursuing new business. Communication, organization, adaptability, and proficiency with tools like Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and event management software such as GEMS are essential.

Lucky Strike also offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans tailored to associate needs, 401(k) retirement plans, employee stock purchase programs, an employee assistance program, wellness resources, paid vacation and holidays, plus various perks such as discounts on bowling, amusement parks, retail, and events. This package underscores the company’s commitment to associate well-being and satisfaction, making it not just a job, but a rewarding career choice for driven professionals seeking growth in the entertainment and hospitality industry.
