The Sales Manager, Venues role at Encore is a pivotal position responsible for orchestrating exceptional event experiences by effectively guiding customers and securing business opportunities. The Sales Manager works closely with clients to identify their objectives and tailor solutions that not only meet but exceed their expectations, thus driving revenue growth from the assigned customer base. This role requires leveraging Encore's sales processes and methodologies to proactively and consultatively engage prospects and customers, preparing detailed proposals and quotes, and collaborating cross-functionally with vendors and internal departments to ensure seamless event execution.

Reporting to a Senior Sales Manager, Sales Director, or Director of Event Technology, the Sales Manager is integral to maintaining strong relationships with key hotel personnel and customers, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships that contribute to ongoing business success. The position demands a balance of strategic insight and tactical execution, including managing event cost structures, maintaining accurate customer information within the CRM system, and supporting company initiatives and core values such as delivering world-class service, accountability, and collaborative value creation.

Beyond sales and client management, the role encompasses active participation in site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue engagements to provide on-the-ground support and insights, ensuring that the customer experience is meticulously planned and flawlessly delivered. The Sales Manager also supports sales forecasting and adopts new standard operating procedures and programs that align with evolving business strategies and technological advancements.

Compensation for this role ranges from $38,558 to $50,126, reflective of qualifications, experience, and location specifics, with additional potential for bonuses and incentives. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • minimum 1 year of relevant sales experience
  • technical aptitude and computer proficiency
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work irregular hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • capability to meet physical demands including standing walking lifting and use of audiovisual equipment
  • familiarity with CRM software
  • ability to travel between multiple hotel locations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in Encore or similar environment
  • 1 year technology sales or hospitality experience preferred
  • prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus
  • knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes preferred
  • technical aptitude and computer proficiency
  • strong written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive consultative sales approach utilizing Encore sales process and methodology
  • Prepare and present quotes and proposals timely to customers including those from encoreglobal.com and venue booking systems
  • Collaborate effectively with vendors and other company departments to capture and service events
  • Attend site visits pre-conference planning and venue meetings to support customer event experience
  • Understand event cost structure and incorporate profitability guidelines into solution designs
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers venue personnel and Encore supporting functions delivering world-class service
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline ensuring achievement of revenue targets
  • Ensure all opportunities are documented accurately and updated in CRM system
  • Support sales forecasting efforts ensuring accuracy and timely submission
  • Learn and adopt standard operating procedures and new initiatives
  • Maintain knowledge of new product service offerings and emerging event technology
