It is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends based on event schedules. This exciting role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and has a passion for hospitality, event planning, and project management. The position involves managing events from concept to completion, ensuring every detail aligns with the client’s vision and expectations.
As an Event Planner and Project Manager, you will own the entire event planning process. This includes partnering with clients to understand their goals and budgets, developing customized proposals and detailed timelines, and collaborating extensively with internal teams such as culinary, design, logistics, and vendors. Your expertise will be key in coordinating site visits, tastings, menus, rentals, staffing, and vendor logistics. You will also oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of each event, ensuring seamless operations and a memorable experience for clients and guests.
Additionally, this role emphasizes strong client interaction and relationship-building. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering exceptional service and maintaining accurate event records, contracts, and billing information. Your ability to multitask, communicate effectively, and manage multiple moving parts will be critical. The role requires proficiency in event planning software and Microsoft Office Suite, as well as ideally some familiarity with Portland-area venues and vendors.
This position is suited for individuals with at least 3 years of experience in event planning, catering, hospitality, or related fields. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, creative, and passionate about crafting high-quality events that leave lasting impressions. Physical requirements include sitting for extended periods, typing and data entry, and occasionally lifting or moving light objects up to 20 pounds.
If you enjoy working in an environment where creativity meets logistics, and where your efforts directly enhance client satisfaction and event success, this role presents an excellent career path. The combination of a stable salary, commission incentives, and the dynamic nature of events makes it a rewarding opportunity for professionals eager to advance in the hospitality and event planning industry.
