Job Description

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley is a prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth by providing a safe and supportive environment where children and teenagers can learn, grow, and thrive. Established with the core mission to ignite greatness in the youth it serves, this organization plays a critical role in shaping the lives of young individuals across the Tennessee Valley region. The Boys & Girls Clubs focus on delivering comprehensive programs that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship. The organization thrives on its deep commitment to its core values which include meeting the needs of kids, connecting with the community, recognizing the value and potential in others, expecting the best, investing in people, and proving the impact it has on lives.

The Event Planner role at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley is an essential position within the Resource Development team designed to support the organization's fundraising efforts. The individual in this role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all fundraising events which are vital to sustaining the club's programs and initiatives. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Institutional Philanthropy and requires a dynamic, flexible person who can engage donors and cultivate relationships with sponsors and partners. As an Event Planner, you will orchestrate a variety of events such as fundraising galas, donor receptions, community outreach programs, and other special events that embody the ethos of the Boys & Girls Clubs. Your work will ensure that events run smoothly and achieve targeted financial goals, all while enhancing community engagement and donor retention.

This role demands someone with strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, and excellent communication skills to represent the organization professionally. Beyond event logistics—which includes venue selection, catering, entertainment, staffing, and audiovisual needs—the Event Planner also develops event timelines, budgets, and marketing strategies. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and multiple committees to guarantee seamless event execution. Additionally, the person in this role is tasked with donor stewardship responsibilities, ensuring personalized communication and appreciation that fosters long-term philanthropic support. Utilizing CRM systems to maintain accurate donor records and tracking event metrics such as attendance, revenue, and expenses will be part of daily duties.

The Event Planner at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley is expected to be proactive, self-motivated, and capable of making decisions independently while maintaining strong team collaboration. There is a strong focus on customer service to donors and sponsors, making sure all inquiries and concerns are addressed professionally and promptly. The role may require working some weeknights and weekends along with occasional travel, reflecting the dynamic nature of event planning in the nonprofit sector. Joining this organization means becoming part of a passionate team committed to making a lasting difference in the community. If you are driven by the desire to contribute to an impactful cause and have the skills to organize and manage high-profile fundraising events, this position offers a fulfilling career opportunity with meaningful rewards and the chance to ignite greatness in youth across the Tennessee Valley.
