The Event Planner role at TD SYNNEX is based primarily in the Clearwater and Tampa, Florida area. This position is hands-on and execution-focused, emphasizing meticulous planning and flawless onsite event delivery. The planner will be responsible for corporate events ranging from internal meetings and customer-facing gatherings to hosted happy hours, with a strong focus on food and beverage, decor, and overall guest experience. The role requires strong organizational skills, vendor management, and the ability to support events that may occasionally require early mornings, evenings, and regional travel within Florida, including to Greenville.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring in-office presence Tuesdays through Thursdays when not traveling to events. Candidates must be located within driving distance of Clearwater, FL, and have reliable transportation to support frequent event-related travel in the Tampa area and beyond. Proficiency with event management software, such as Cvent and Marketo, combined with strong Microsoft Office skills, is essential. The ideal candidate will bring 2-4 years of hands-on corporate or hospitality event planning experience, with demonstrated expertise in managing food and beverage logistics, decor, budgets, and vendor negotiations.

Job Requirements

  • 2-4 years of hands-on event planning experience
  • Experience managing food and beverage and decor
  • Comfortable being onsite for events including setup, execution and breakdown

  • Education preferred in Hospitality, Marketing, Communications or related field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to handle onsite event work including setup, execution, and breakdown
  • Flexibility to work early mornings and occasional evenings as required
  • Ability to lift and move up to 20 lbs and be on feet for extended periods during event days
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel within Tampa area

Job Duties

  • Plan and execute a variety of corporate events primarily based in Clearwater and Tampa areas
  • Partner with event stakeholders to gather requirements and develop event plans
  • Create detailed budgets and proposals
  • Manage key logistics with a heavy focus on food and beverage, decor, room setup, and overall guest experience
  • Research, recommend, and manage venues, catering partners, decor vendors, and other event suppliers
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and manage costs to ensure budget alignment
  • Own full budget accountability including projections, tracking, and post-event reconciliation
  • Develop event agendas and timelines
  • Coordinate audiovisual services and third-party production partners
  • Manage event communications including invitations and registration
  • Provide onsite event support, including early morning setup and afterhours execution
  • Support recurring happy hours and evening events approximately once per month
  • Utilize event tracking tools and databases to manage workflows and reporting
  • Collaborate closely with the broader Events team to share best practices and support coverage
  • Complete additional event-related duties as assigned
