The Event Operations Manager role within Lumos Experiences is a full-time, hybrid position based in Arlington Heights, Illinois, combining three days in the office with two days working from home. Reporting to the Head of Regional Events, this role is essential for managing the operational aspects of multiple live events. As the Event Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end execution of live events across Illinois. This includes operational planning, venue coordination, staff recruitment, training, and on-site event management. You will ensure that every event runs smoothly, safely, and consistently, maintaining high standards that align with the Lumos brand. Your leadership will be pivotal in sustaining the momentum of business growth while maintaining exceptional guest experiences.

You will also handle budgeting, inventory, and equipment logistics, developing standardized processes to streamline operations across all venues.

This role is ideal for someone with proven experience in event operations, production, or management, particularly within live entertainment or hospitality sectors. You should be a motivated self-starter capable of leading teams and managing multiple priorities simultaneously while delivering consistent, outstanding event experiences. Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with budget management expertise and proficiency in Google Suite and related collaboration tools are essential.

Job Duties

  • Own the full operational delivery of shows across Illinois from pre-show planning to post-event review
  • Maintain detailed venue catalogue with layouts access and contact information
  • Lead recruitment onboarding and training of weekend Event Managers and Assistants
  • Coordinate with musician booker and oversee production teams ensuring seamless execution
  • Develop and standardize processes to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Manage inventory storage equipment maintenance and logistics
  • Attend shows regularly to coach teams and ensure high quality event standards
  • Deliver post-event reports analyze KPIs and customer feedback propose improvements
  • Coordinate special event venue permits vendor sourcing compliance and operational planning
  • Manage venue insurance requirements certificates of insurance vendor documentation and permits
