Job Description
Vacancy Brewing is a vibrant, women-owned and operated brewery nestled in the heart of South Austin, Texas. This neighborhood brewery has earned recognition as an award-winning, lager-centric establishment that prides itself on crafting clean, approachable, and well-made beers. The brewery's dedication to quality and character is evident in every pint they serve, making it a beloved destination for craft beer enthusiasts and community members alike. Vacancy Brewing embodies the spirit of its locality, contributing to South Austin's lively and welcoming atmosphere while championing inclusivity and creativity within the craft brewing scene.
Vacancy Brewing is currently seeking a part-time Event Marketing Coordinator to join their dynamic team with the potential for this role to evolve into a full-time position. Working approximately 18 to 24 hours per week, this role is designed for a motivated individual who is passionate about crafting memorable experiences and driving community engagement through innovative events. The Event Marketing Coordinator will take full ownership of planning, promoting, and executing a diverse array of taproom events that enhance traffic, strengthen community ties, and elevate the brewery's presence in the Austin craft beer landscape.
This position offers a unique blend of responsibilities, from strategic event planning to hands-on execution, merging creativity with organizational skills. The successful candidate will manage and curate the brewery's event calendar, ensuring a balanced schedule that includes beer releases, recurring favorites like trivia and karaoke, and unique one-off activations and partnerships. Special attention will be paid to programming during traditionally slower periods such as weekday afternoons and Mondays, aiming to optimize taproom attendance throughout the week.
Moreover, the Event Marketing Coordinator will collaborate closely with food truck partners and local creatives to maximize event promotion and guest experience. They will develop thoughtful event concepts that focus not only on logistics but also on ambiance, guest engagement, and the overall flow of activities. This includes crafting clear run-of-show documents that guarantee seamless execution. Partnering with community vendors and brands to create meaningful collaborations will be a key part of this role, aimed at attracting new audiences and enriching the brewery’s community involvement.
Beyond the planning and collaboration stages, the coordinator is responsible for marketing efforts that spread awareness and excitement about upcoming events. Creating captivating flyers, social media graphics, and managing event listings across multiple platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Google, and local calendars ensures wide visibility. The role also involves capturing compelling photo and video content that aligns with Vacancy Brewing’s brand voice and values.
Effective communication within the team is essential; the coordinator will ensure that all staff members are well-informed and equipped with the context and talking points necessary to promote events enthusiastically to patrons. They will oversee in-person execution during key events, managing vendor coordination, timing, setup, and troubleshooting any issues that arise in real time.
An analytical mindset will be beneficial, as the coordinator will monitor event success by tracking attendance, sales, and other critical metrics to continually refine and optimize future programming. This data-driven approach enables Vacancy Brewing to tailor its offerings to community preferences and maximize impact.
Ideal candidates for this position are those who naturally identify when a space lacks energy and immediately envision ways to invigorate it. Creativity coupled with strong organizational skills, comfort engaging with diverse groups of people, and a genuine passion for the craft beer industry are essential traits. Proficiency in tools such as Canva, Google Workspace, and social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok is required.
Vacancy Brewing offers competitive pay tailored to experience and a welcoming, fun work environment where employees can grow alongside the brewery. Benefits include discounts on beer and merchandise, a monthly allowance for taproom purchases, and the exciting opportunity to expand responsibilities within a flourishing small business. If you have a passion for craft beer, a talent for building community connections, and the willingness to work hard, Vacancy Brewing invites you to apply and contribute to their vibrant culture and continued success.
