The Event Manager plays a critical role within our operations, responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and seamless execution of all banquet events. This position assumes ownership of event details post-booking, overseeing all aspects including room setup, seating arrangements, detailed event timelines, coordination of staffing needs, menu planning, and flawless day-of event management. The Event Manager works in close partnership with the Sales Manager, Culinary teams, and Restaurant Leadership to ensure every function meets our stringent quality standards and guest expectations.
This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses exceptional organizational and multitasking skills. Being the primary on-site contact during events, the Event Manager must have excellent guest service and conflict resolution abilities, ensuring client satisfaction and smooth operations throughout every event. Additionally, they are responsible for maintaining banquet service standards, managing staff performance through hiring, training, and coaching, and supporting the financial aspects of banquet operations including labor and food cost monitoring.
To excel in this position, prior experience of at least three years in hotel, catering, or banquet operations is essential, along with proficiency in reading and executing banquet event orders, layouts, and contracts. Familiarity with banquet and event management software or CRM systems is preferred. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability during nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet service demands. Job Duties
- Own all event details once the event is booked and handed off from sales team
- Review contracts, BEOs, and event notes for accuracy and completeness
- Create and manage event timelines, layouts, seating charts, and room assignments
- Coordinate menu selections, special requests, dietary needs, and service style
- Schedule banquet staff based on event size and service requirements
- Lead day-of execution, ensuring events start on time and run according to plan
- Serve as primary on-site contact for hosts during events
