The Event Manager role at Cohera’s Nashville office is an opportunity for an experienced hospitality-focused professional with a passion for producing corporate events to thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced environment. As an Event Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing contracting, planning, budgeting, logistics, and on-site execution, while managing all program materials such as diagrams, manifests, and run-of-show documents. You will serve as the primary client contact throughout the event lifecycle and maintain open, transparent communication during program dates to guarantee client satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Six or more years of progressive event management experience in DMC, agency, or hospitality setting
  • Three years of event management experience specifically within the DMC industry
  • Proven ability to manage multi-day events and client portfolios
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and profitability
  • Exceptional leadership and team development skills
  • Proficient in contract negotiation and vendor management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strategic thinking and strong presentation abilities
  • High multitasking and decision-making capabilities
  • Willingness and ability to travel
  • Ability to work flexible hours including overtime
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • Six or more years of progressive event management experience in a DMC, agency, or hospitality environment
  • Three years of event management experience in the DMC industry

Job Duties

  • Lead all phases of event management including contracting, planning, budgeting, logistics, and on-site execution
  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout the planning process and event duration
  • Conduct operational site inspections, planning visits, and walkthroughs
  • Manage production of program materials such as diagrams, manifests, and run-of-show documents
  • Ensure program profitability by tracking costs, managing the P&L, and maintaining profit margins
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through communication and problem-solving
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors for successful program delivery
  • Oversee part-time event staff and manage vendor contracts and quality
  • Conduct post-event debriefs and send post-program follow-up communications
