Job Description

Anthology Events is a premier event venue located within Detroit's iconic Book Tower, offering a unique hospitality experience that caters to a wide range of private and corporate events. Known for its exceptional service, thoughtful planning, and commitment to creating unforgettable guest experiences, Anthology Events has established itself as one of Detroit's most distinctive destinations. Whether hosting weddings, social celebrations, galas, or corporate functions, the venue provides an elegant atmosphere combined with meticulous event execution to ensure each gathering is memorable and seamless.

This role as an Events Manager at Anthology Events is a dynamic and integral position within the company's hospitality team. The Events Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of private event planning and execution, from the initial client contract to event completion. Serving as the primary liaison between clients and the event team, the Manager will ensure clear communication, timely updates, and flawless coordination throughout the planning process and on the event day itself. This position requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and guest experiences, demonstrating excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills.

The Events Manager will coordinate with various departments, including culinary, operations, sales, and venue staff, to deliver exceptional service and manage all logistics. This includes conducting client meetings, managing event timelines, developing floor plans, and supervising on-site event activities. The role also encompasses financial and administrative duties such as tracking deposits, reviewing budgets, and maintaining all necessary documentation and contracts. The Manager is expected to anticipate challenges, adapt to last-minute changes, and ensure that every event not only meets but exceeds client expectations.

Anthology Events offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package, providing opportunities for professional growth within a dynamic and culturally rich hospitality company. The position requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet the demands of the business, reflecting the nature of the event planning industry. Joining Anthology means becoming part of a dedicated team that values collaboration, creativity, and excellence in delivering memorable experiences.

Additionally, Anthology Events is part of Method Co., a boutique hospitality company that operates a portfolio of hotels, restaurants, and apartment-style accommodations across the country. Method Co. focuses on creating culturally relevant and design-driven experiences that blend thoughtful service with elevated design. This affiliation offers the Events Manager access to a broader network of hospitality expertise and resources, enriching the professional environment and opportunities for career advancement.
