Job Description

Barton Hills Country Club, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is a prestigious private club established in 1919. It holds the distinguished honor of being the only Distinguished Club of America in the Ann Arbor area, showcasing its rich heritage and commitment to excellence. Known for its exceptional facilities, superior service standards, and vibrant member community, Barton Hills offers an exclusive and refined experience for its members and their guests. The club features beautiful event spaces, lush golf courses, and top-tier dining options, providing an unparalleled backdrop for both leisure and special events. Barton Hills prides itself on fostering a welcoming environment where tradition meets modern hospitality, making it a renowned destination for private events, weddings, corporate gatherings, celebrations, and charitable functions. This blend of history and contemporary service positions Barton Hills as a leader in private club hospitality within Michigan and beyond.

The role of Event Manager at Barton Hills Country Club is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and expanding the club’s private event business. The Event Manager will own the planning and execution of all member and member-sponsored events, including weddings, corporate events, celebrations, and charitable gatherings. Reporting directly to the General Manager/COO and working closely with the Director of Food & Beverage, the Event Manager will be instrumental in shaping the club’s service standards around private events. This position is perfect for an experienced event professional ready to build and lead a dedicated events department, establish consistent processes, and develop a robust pipeline of private events. An essential part of the role will be assembling and managing a day-of execution team to ensure every event runs smoothly and meets the high expectations of the club’s membership.

Key first-year priorities include creating repeatable booking and planning protocols that enhance the member experience, fostering relationships that drive business growth, and ensuring seamless event execution. Candidates should possess at least four years of experience in event sales, catering, or event management, ideally within private clubs or membership-based hospitality organizations. This is an excellent opportunity to grow professionally within a respected institution, influence service excellence, and contribute to the club’s expanding private event portfolio. Barton Hills Country Club offers an engaging work environment where dedication, creativity, and leadership in event management are highly valued and rewarded. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their applications confidentially through Strategic Club Solutions as Barton Hills continues to seek a talented and motivated Event Manager to elevate its private event offerings.
