Job Description

UCLA is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Events Specialist to join its Events Office. This position plays a crucial role in the planning, coordination, and execution of public and private events, student film shoots, and other activities that require specialized event management expertise. The Events Specialist will support the Senior Event Manager, Assistant Director, and Director of the UCLA Events Office by overseeing customer service, budget creation, contract management, event planning, billing, and auditing processes. A significant part of this role includes the ability to provide on-site supervision and coordination of event production, ensuring smooth and successful operations.

The Events Specialist will also be responsible for supervising student support staff and temporary event staff, demonstrating leadership and organizational skills. This role requires proficiency in managing multiple tasks under time constraints while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality service to internal and external clients. The salary for this position ranges from $29.17 to $33.00 per hour, with placement within this range based on the candidate's skills, knowledge, and prior experience. The employment is funded through September 2028, with continuation subject to the availability of funding.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience in event coordination or management

  • Writing skills sufficient for reports and event documentation
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Background check clearance

Job Duties

  • Coordinate public and private events, student film shoots, and related activities
