Known for its dedication to conservation, animal care, and engaging experiences, this establishment provides an inviting destination for guests of all ages. The Zoo seamlessly combines opportunities to explore wildlife with the chance to create special memories, making it more than just a place to visit - it is a vibrant, community-centered environment that values exceptional guest experiences and environmental stewardship.

Currently, the Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a part-time Event Facility Coordinator to join their team. This role is vital in ensuring that weddings and other special events held at the Zoo are executed flawlessly, providing guests with an unforgettable experience. The Event Facility Coordinator will collaborate closely with clients, vendors, and zoo staff to manage event details from conception through completion. This involves being proactive in problem-solving, demonstrating excellent organizational and administrative skills, and showing a commitment to going above and beyond in service delivery.

The position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and requires flexibility, as work schedules may include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys interacting with a variety of people while maintaining a keen eye for detail to ensure smooth event operations. Duties include coordinating client drop-offs, managing rehearsals, assisting with event setup, and ensuring clear communication among all parties involved. Exceptional customer service, active listening, and strong communication skills are essential for success in this role. The coordinator must also have the physical ability to work on their feet for extended periods and walk around the Zoo grounds during events, ensuring all logistics are in place and running smoothly.

This role provides an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about event planning and customer satisfaction who want to contribute to making meaningful moments at a unique venue. The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium prides itself on being a drug-free workplace, including prohibition of marijuana, and emphasizes an inclusive hiring approach, ensuring all qualified candidates receive fair consideration regardless of race, religion, color, creed, genetic information, sex, age, national origin, disability, military status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other legally protected characteristic. By becoming an Event Facility Coordinator at the Toledo Zoo, candidates join a dedicated team committed to excellence and the continual enhancement of guest experiences in a dynamic and inspiring environment.
