Job Description

Destination El Paso is a premier convention and events organization dedicated to promoting the vibrant city of El Paso as an exceptional destination for tradeshows, conventions, and expos. As a key player in the hospitality and events industry, Destination El Paso collaborates closely with various stakeholders, including city officials, venue partners, and clients to deliver memorable and successful events that drive economic impact and showcase the cultural richness of the region. The organization plays a vital role in client retention by offering outstanding customer service and comprehensive event management solutions that meet the diverse needs of event planners and attendees alike.

The Full-Time Event Coordinator position at Destination El Paso is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to join the event management team and support the seamless execution of a wide array of events. Under general supervision, the Event Coordinator is responsible for managing, coordinating, planning, and executing all event-related needs for clients contracted with Destination El Paso. This role involves working closely with clients to understand their event goals, facilitating communication between internal departments, and ensuring that every detail—from floor plans and setup specifications to billing and staffing—is meticulously managed to guarantee event success. The position requires a keen ability to juggle multiple tasks, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal communication to maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and event staff.

In this role, the Event Coordinator will be actively involved in coordinating venue services for trade shows, conventions, and expos while managing administrative duties such as invoice processing, ordering materials, and maintaining event-related reports and files. The coordinator will also serve as a key point of contact for clients, guiding them through contract provisions, event policies, and procedures to ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded. On event days, the coordinator will oversee the scheduling and management of event staff, liaise with security and safety personnel, and handle any incidents or issues that arise promptly and professionally.

This position is ideal for someone with experience in event coordination or venue operations, who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Strong customer service skills are essential, as is the ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances. A valid driver’s license and proficiency in Microsoft Office and event creation software complete the qualifications for this role. Destination El Paso offers a challenging and rewarding career path with the opportunity to contribute significantly to the city’s tourism and event hosting reputation, providing a platform for professional growth within the hospitality industry.
