Job Description

The Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau (LRCVB) operates as a pivotal organization dedicated to promoting tourism and hosting numerous events within the city of Little Rock. Serving as a vital hub for hospitality and event management within the region, LRCVB manages facilities that accommodate conferences, conventions, and a variety of public gatherings, creating an environment designed to boost the local economy and encourage community engagement. As a respected entity in the event planning and hospitality sector, LRCVB prides itself on maintaining high standards for safety, professionalism, and customer service in all its operations. The bureau plays a significant role in supporting the events that bring people together, ranging from small meetings to larger public events, leveraging the dynamic capabilities of its venues and expert team to provide seamless experiences for attendees and organizers alike. Located in Arkansas, the LRCVB is committed to serving both the residents of Little Rock and visitors, enhancing the appeal of the city as a destination for business and leisure. This position is particularly noted for its sensitivity under the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Amendment and is designated as essential personnel during inclement weather, reflecting the critical nature of the role within the bureau's operational framework. Prospective employees should be prepared to meet these guidelines and expectations to ensure compliance with state laws and bureau protocols.

The role of Event Coordinator at LRCVB involves coordinating smaller scale events within the facilities managed by the bureau, providing fundamental support to event managers, and contributing to the successful execution of these events. This position requires a blend of administrative expertise and customer service skills to oversee the logistical components of event planning, making sure that each event runs smoothly and meets the expectations of clients and the bureau. Candidates will need to manage scheduling, vendor coordination, and internal communications while also handling any unforeseen issues that may arise during event preparation and execution. The role emphasizes the importance of maintaining certifications in Standard First Aid and Community CPR/AED, ensuring that safety is always a priority in the event environment. The work schedule is flexible, incorporating evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to accommodate the timing of various events. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hotel Management, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field combined with at least one year of experience in an administrative or professional role within a hospitality setting forms the ideal background for candidates applying to this role. The candidate must also be able to adapt quickly to the dynamic nature of event planning and hospitality management, demonstrating excellent organizational abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This comprehensive role is essential for nurturing LRCVB’s reputation as a premier events destination in Little Rock, allowing the successful applicant to contribute directly to the city’s vibrant event scene and hospitality industry.
