Job Description
University Flower Shop, established in 1931, is a renowned floral design studio nestled in the historic Nickel's Arcade in Ann Arbor. With nearly a century of experience, we pride ourselves on our dedication to crafting exquisite custom floral arrangements and beautifully wrapped bouquets tailored for a wide range of occasions. Our design philosophy centers on using unique and seasonal ingredients, which infuse inspiration into our talented team and provide genuine delight to our customers. Our offerings extend beyond flowers to include a curated selection of succulents and botanically inspired gifts, meeting the diverse tastes of our clientele. Committed to sustainability and community support, we source flowers locally from Southeast Michigan whenever possible and maintain active participation in the Michigan Flower Growers' Cooperative, reflecting our dedication to environmental responsibility and quality.
We are currently seeking a skilled Event Coordinator & Producer to join our expanding events business. This full-time position offers an hourly rate of $25 to $35, based on experience and industry knowledge. The Event Coordinator & Producer will play a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of event sales, customer service, installations, and overall event production. The successful candidate will possess at least five years of experience in event coordination or the floral industry, demonstrating a deep passion for the craft along with strong leadership and organizational skills. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple projects, foster client relationships, and uphold a positive and productive environment for event execution. Key responsibilities include leading outreach efforts to wedding venues and event planners to grow business opportunities, acting as the main client contact for event logistics using CRM tools, and managing the design and on-site production of events to bring client visions to life. Availability to work from Tuesday to Saturday, including Saturdays for event installations, is mandatory. Additional benefits include wholesale flower purchasing rights, paid time off, holiday breaks, and paid overtime when applicable. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong work ethic, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for weddings, events, and flowers, eager to contribute to a small business dedicated to creativity and sustainability.
