Job Description
The Ritz-Carlton, located at 1 Ritz Carlton Dr, Dana Point, California, is a prestigious luxury hotel that forms part of the globally recognized Marriott International portfolio. Known for its exceptional service standards and exquisite guest experiences, The Ritz-Carlton has established itself as a leader in the luxury hospitality sector. With over 100 award-winning locations worldwide, the hotel thrives on a culture that embraces diversity, creativity, and compassion among its associates. This dedication to superior guest care and unparalleled service excellence has enabled The Ritz-Carlton to maintain a reputation as a premier destination for luxury travelers seeking memorable and bespoke experiences.
This position is a full-time, non-management role within the Food and Beverage and Culinary department. The hourly pay rate is $28.75, reflecting the competitive compensation offered to associate-level team members committed to upholding the brand's esteemed standards. The role is not remote, requiring physical presence at the Dana Point hotel to actively engage in banquet and event coordination. Working at The Ritz-Carlton means you'll be part of an inclusive environment that values the fusion of unique talents and experiences from all staff members, empowering employees to be their best selves while delivering luxury hospitality at its finest.
As a team member in this vital role, your primary responsibility is to ensure the flawless execution of banquet events in alignment with The Ritz-Carlton's legendary 'Gold Standards.' These standards form the cornerstone of the hotel's service philosophy and drive the commitment to continuous improvement and guest satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with coordinators and hosts to confirm that all event preparations align perfectly with client expectations and internal protocols. This involves thoroughly reviewing banquet event orders to gather essential information about guest preferences, event timing, menu setups, specialty stations, and any unique guest needs. Through meticulous attention to detail, you will ensure that all special arrangements for banquets are executed seamlessly and that any required follow-ups are completed to the highest standards.
Safety and professionalism are paramount in this role. You are expected to adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, promptly reporting any maintenance concerns, potential hazards, accidents, or injuries. Participation in mandatory safety training and certifications is required to maintain compliance and promote a safe working environment. Additionally, maintaining a clean and professional appearance, including proper uniform standards, is essential for representing The Ritz-Carlton brand with pride.
This position requires you to uphold the confidentiality and security of company information and resources. Equally important is fostering a respectful and supportive work atmosphere by treating all colleagues with dignity and offering teamwork assistance to reach common goals. Physical demands include moving, lifting, and positioning items weighing up to 25 pounds independently, standing or walking for prolonged periods, and performing various physical movements such as bending, reaching, climbing stairs or ramps, and navigating confined or uneven spaces.
Effective communication plays a crucial role in your daily tasks. You will welcome and recognize guests according to The Ritz-Carlton's standards, ensure clear and professional verbal interactions, and handle telephone calls with proper etiquette. Flexibility is required as you may be assigned other reasonable duties by supervisors to support the overall success of the team and guest experience.
By joining The Ritz-Carlton team, you become part of a culture that not only values cultural diversity and equal opportunity but actively promotes inclusion and supports employees through robust policies and practices. As a member of this dynamic organization, you will have the chance to grow professionally, contribute to a world-class hospitality brand, and deliver exceptional experiences that leave guests with lasting memories. This role represents an excellent opportunity for those passionate about luxury service and seeking to thrive in a respected global company that truly values its associates.
