Job Description

Flyspace Productions is a full-service, woman-owned event management and production company renowned for producing some of the largest festivals and live events in the region. Alongside these marquee public events, the company also specializes in private, corporate, and community gatherings, offering end-to-end event solutions. As a prominent player in the East Coast event production scene, Flyspace boasts a state-of-the-art Production Department that delivers concert audio, lighting, rigging, staging, and operates one of the largest fleets of Stageline Mobile Stages. Complementing the production capabilities is the Events Department, which expertly manages event coordination, logistics, festival production, and brand activations. This combination allows Flyspace to deliver seamless, memorable experiences for diverse audiences, making them a trusted partner in the event industry.

We are currently seeking Event Operations Assistants to join our vibrant team for the summer festival season and beyond. This hourly, non-exempt role starts at $17 per hour, with potential for increased rates depending on experience and technical skills. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to work in a dynamic, hands-on event environment where no two days are alike. Event Operations Assistants will play a crucial role in supporting the setup, execution, and breakdown of various events. This includes assistance with loading and unloading materials, organizing supplies, and supporting core event functions such as stage, lighting, and audio operations. The role involves physical labor that requires lifting up to 50 pounds and working in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors. Successful candidates must demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and professionalism while collaborating with team members, clients, and the public.

In addition to physical tasks, Event Operations Assistants must be adaptable, able to follow detailed instructions, and communicate effectively, ensuring smooth event operations. Flexibility in work hours is essential, as the role requires availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays, aligning with event schedules. Reliable transportation is necessary, as the position involves travel to various event locations. Candidates should be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.

This role offers a unique glimpse into the live event production world, making it ideal for those passionate about concerts, festivals, and large-scale productions. Candidates with interests or experience in theater, festivals, warehouse operations, or technical fields such as carpentry, lighting, audio, AV, or rigging will find this position particularly rewarding. While prior experience is preferred, a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a willingness to be trained in company systems and safety practices are equally valued. A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is advantageous, especially for roles involving driving vans or small box trucks.

Flyspace prides itself on fostering an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture. We celebrate diversity and are committed to equal opportunity employment, welcoming applicants of all backgrounds and identities. We prioritize clear communication about compensation and benefits, starting from day one, ensuring transparency and fairness. The company is also committed to providing reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process, encouraging applicants of all abilities to apply and ensuring an equitable evaluation environment.

Working at Flyspace Productions offers more than just a job; it presents an opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to delivering unforgettable live experiences. If you thrive in an active, fast-paced setting and want to contribute to some of the largest and most exciting events on the East Coast, consider joining Flyspace as an Event Operations Assistant. This role promises hands-on experience, skill development, and the chance to grow within a supportive and innovative event production company.
