This part-time role is centered around event coordination and customer engagement within a Michaels retail store located in Harbison, SC. The position primarily involves planning, coordinating, and facilitating a variety of in-store events ranging from children’s birthday parties to craft classes designed to create engaging and fun experiences for guests of all ages. As an Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering superior customer service by assisting patrons with product selection and providing a friendly checkout experience to ensure customer satisfaction. Your role will also entail operational support such as unloading trucks, merchandise stocking, and maintaining the store’s appearance to uphold Michaels’ brand standards.

The role is dynamic and versatile, involving direct interaction with customers to foster a welcoming and creative atmosphere. Key duties include demonstrating craft project techniques, face painting, managing party add-ons like goody bags and balloons, and tailoring events to meet client expectations. Administrative responsibilities require communication through emails, phone calls, and event paperwork. Additionally, you will play a vital role in supporting the store’s daily operations by participating in merchandise recovery, stock optimization, and adhering to safety and shrink programs.

This position demands excellent interpersonal skills, creativity, and the capacity to handle stress effectively while delivering memorable experiences for guests. A diverse customer base, including children and adults, requires the ability to engage and connect across age groups. Physical demands such as standing for long periods, lifting, bending, and using ladders to access stock are part of the routine. Work hours may include nights, weekends, and early mornings, aligning with the needs of event scheduling and store operations.
