Job Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and widely adopted cloud platform, trusted by millions of customers including startups, enterprises, and public sector organizations worldwide. AWS continually innovates and expands its portfolio of services, enabling businesses to scale and grow with agility and confidence. Within this expansive ecosystem, the AWS Community Groups team plays a vital role in building and scaling programs that engage hundreds of thousands of student builders and professional developers. These programs foster learning, collaboration, and innovation around cloud computing and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. The team’s objective is to support community-driven growth and provide a platform where developers can connect, share knowledge, and build new skills.
The Event & Marketing Coordinator role at AWS Community Groups is a unique opportunity to own the operational execution of marketing campaigns, events, and media coordination specifically tailored for the student and professional community programs. Unlike traditional marketing positions centered solely on product promotion, this role focuses on creating and nurturing a global technical community. It involves a blend of project management, data-driven campaign execution, stakeholder communications, and logistical coordination.
Working closely with the Marketing Manager Lead, the successful candidate will bring to life innovative campaigns, product launches, Community Days, and large-scale events that serve as critical touchpoints for the next generation of cloud and AI builders. The role demands a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent marketing and event workstreams, all while balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines. The Event & Marketing Coordinator will track and analyze engagement data to measure impact, coordinate with internal teams and field partners, and manage vendors to ensure smooth, on-time, and on-budget delivery.
This position offers the chance to contribute directly to shaping how developers engage with AWS technologies globally. It is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex puzzles with multiple moving pieces, and seeks to build meaningful connections within the tech community. The role supports a culture of inclusion and continuous learning, providing mentorship opportunities and a pathway for career growth within the AWS marketing organization. The role’s base salary range varies by location, with comprehensive benefits designed to support employee well-being and work-life balance. Overall, this position is paramount in driving the community engagement that fuels AWS’s innovation and leadership in cloud computing.
