The role of Loader at H&S Family of Bakeries is integral to the distribution team’s success. The loader supports daily operations by efficiently loading and unloading bakery products, ensuring that all items are handled with care to prevent damage while aligning closely with route drivers’ schedules to optimize dispatch and delivery processes. This position demands a strong commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork. Responsibilities also include conducting inventory counts, completing essential paperwork with precision, performing trailer inspections, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Job Requirements

  • must be at least 18 years of age
  • count and perform basic math
  • strong interpersonal abilities with focus on teamwork and collaborative problem-solving
  • familiarity with basic computer software particularly spreadsheets
  • previous experience in labor-intensive role preferably warehouse
  • flexible availability willing to work various shifts
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods
  • ability to reach bend stoop and crouch
  • ability to handle and operate machinery tools or controls
  • ability to perceive and respond to safety alerts
  • ability to work in environments with varying temperatures noise levels and airborne particles
  • ability to climb stairs ladders or work platforms
  • ability to sit for prolonged periods using office equipment and computer systems
  • ability to wear required personal protective equipment for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in warehouse or labor-intensive roles preferred
  • basic computer skills especially spreadsheet tools for inventory management
  • strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • ability to follow safety protocols
  • ability to communicate effectively

Job Duties

  • efficiently load and unload product and bakery items ensuring safe handling to prevent damage
  • accurately select and prepare products for dispatch aligning with route drivers' schedules
  • conduct thorough inventory counts contributing to accurate tracking and management
  • complete paperwork such as load sheets and block sheets with accuracy and neatness
  • perform trailer checks including sweeping and checking for damage and submit information to the department manager
  • inform supervisors in advance of floor inventory of empty trays and other equipment
  • uphold the highest standards of efficiency and precision in all tasks especially product allocation for specific routes
  • maintain a clean and orderly work area adhering to safety and hygiene standards
  • collaborate effectively with fellow team members contributing to a cohesive work environment
  • responsibly operate and maintain company equipment including forklifts ensuring safety compliance
