Job Description

Trefethen Family Vineyards is a distinguished family-owned estate vineyard and winery located in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. With over 50 years of history, the winery is renowned for crafting world-class wines using estate-grown grapes, establishing itself as a historic and respected name in the California wine industry. The winery itself is a historic landmark, originally constructed in 1886, surrounded by lush vineyards that create a picturesque and welcoming environment for visitors. This setting is not only a testament to the winery's rich heritage but also serves as the core location where thousands of guests experience the tradition and craft of fine wine production each year.

Trefethen Family Vineyards is currently seeking to add an enthusiastic Estate Concierge to its hospitality team. This full-time, non-exempt position plays a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for guests who visit the estate. Estate Concierges are often the first and last points of contact during a guest's visit, making their role essential in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the warm, welcoming atmosphere that Trefethen Family Vineyards is known for. The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $20 to $22, dependent on qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related factors, with a pay scale that reflects the candidate's skills and overall suitability.

The Estate Concierge will be responsible for managing guest interactions throughout the visit, assisting with guest flow management, processing wine orders, and handling reservation bookings. The role demands strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse client groups, which is essential to convey the Trefethen story and answer any guest inquiries. Working closely with Wine Educators, Stewards, and Supervisors, the Concierge ensures that guest experiences run smoothly and that their visits are both enjoyable and informative. The role also involves managing phone calls, emails, and texts to ensure guests have access to support throughout their relationship with the winery.

In addition to guest relations, the Concierge will handle sales by processing in-person orders, packing and fulfilling wine shipments, and assisting with membership requests, communicating these to the Wine Club team. The position requires participation in occasional special winery events, both on and off-site, contributing to the overall hospitality efforts and community engagement of the vineyard. Pouring wine by the glass based on seasonal availability and visitor volume is also part of the role, requiring both product knowledge and a passion for wine.

The working environment combines office duties with front-of-house interaction, including standing and walking frequently, and requires a professional appearance with a business casual dress code. The job demands flexibility with a schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Physical responsibilities include operating a computer extensively, leading groups around the winery, and occasionally lifting objects weighing up to 46 pounds. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable to changing priorities, and eager to work as part of a positive team environment. Overall, this is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about wine and hospitality to join a historic and respected winery dedicated to excellence in visitor experience and product quality.
