The role of a Housekeeping Utility Worker at Linden Ponds is a key position focused on ensuring the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall maintenance of the community’s environment. This role is offered on a per diem basis, providing flexibility to fill in during vacations, illnesses, or periods of increased staffing demand. Compensation is competitive, with hourly wages ranging from $21 to $23 depending on experience.

Housekeeping Utility Workers are responsible for cleaning various building areas, floors, and surfaces to uphold the community’s high standards of sanitation. They operate specialized cleaning equipment to maintain both hard and carpeted floor surfaces through tasks such as scrubbing, mopping, burnishing, stripping, waxing, extracting, interim cleaning, spotting, drying, and vacuuming. Additionally, these workers play a critical role in preparing and setting up rooms and furniture for events as outlined by work orders. They are also tasked with removing trash, managing refuse and recycling properly, and assisting with the movement and delivery of heavy objects or packages.

Successful candidates for this role will have experience or familiarity with carpet care and floor finishing techniques and the safe operation of various cleaning and trash removal equipment. They must be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, showcasing reliability and attention to detail. While not always required, a valid driver’s license and a history of safe driving may be necessary depending on job duties and regulations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred
  • ability to safely operate specialized cleaning equipment
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • valid driver’s license may be required
  • history of safe driving if driving is required

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in carpet care and floor finishing techniques preferred
  • ability to safely operate carpet care equipment, hard floor care equipment, trash removal equipment, and other cleaning equipment
  • ability to work independently and as a contributing team member
  • valid driver’s license may be required
  • history of safe driving as noted through a Motor Vehicle Record check if driving is required

Job Duties
