The Environmental Services/Custodial Manager role at Sodexo is a pivotal on-site position located at a manufacturing facility in Green Bay, WI. This leadership role entails managing a team of 10 janitorial technicians, overseeing all aspects of custodial operations to maintain cleanliness and safety standards across common and operational areas of the site. The manager is responsible for daily staff management including assigning tasks, scheduling shifts, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety protocols. In addition, this role acts as a liaison to contracted service providers, coordinating their schedules and scope of work to align with Sodexo and client standards.

Critical to this position is a strong focus on training and development, fostering a safe work environment, and maintaining regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines. The Environmental Services/Custodial Manager ensures all areas such as restrooms, break rooms, floors, and general spaces meet the company’s rigorous housekeeping standards. This role also requires a hands-on approach to overseeing inventory management, quality inspections, and supporting special projects that enhance the cleanliness and operational efficiency of the facility. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience managing or leading a team
  • Prior experience in environmental services or housekeeping
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in relevant software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions for the organization
  • Results-driven with a focus on enhancing employee engagement

Job Duties

  • Direct daily custodial operations, ensuring employees have the necessary equipment and resources to meet goals and deadlines
  • Act as point of contact for contracted service providers, managing schedules and scope of work
  • Maintain housekeeping and custodial services to meet standards and contractual requirements
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Sodexo/client policies (e.g., quality assurance, safety, operations)
  • Foster a safe work environment by ensuring equipment safety, compliance with safety programs, and providing ongoing safety training
  • Conduct regular inspections of office spaces, restrooms and general areas
  • Oversee inventory, manage weekly schedules, and ensure proper staffing while supporting the hiring, training, and development of new staff
