Job Description
Our Lady of Angels Convent is a respected religious and healthcare organization that operates with a commitment to supporting the needs and well-being of its residents and staff. Located in Aston, Pennsylvania, this establishment is part of the broader Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia network, which is known for its compassionate care and dedication to service. The Convent works in conjunction with Assisi House to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, clinical personnel, public visitors, and administrative staff. The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia also emphasize a collaborative work culture that values and supports employees at all levels through a variety of comprehensive benefits and an employee-focused atmosphere.
The role of Environmental Services Aide (Housekeeper) is a full-time position essential to maintaining the standard of cleanliness and safety throughout the facilities at Our Lady of Angels Convent or Assisi House, based on assignment. This position requires dedication to daily cleaning and disinfection protocols in various areas including resident rooms, clinical and public spaces, as well as administrative offices. Environmental Services Aides play a key role in infection control and safety compliance by adhering to rigorous cleaning standards and utilizing appropriate supplies and chemicals effectively and safely. The schedule typically falls within daytime hours, although weekend and holiday availability may be necessary, particularly at Assisi House.
Environmental Services Aides are responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure both hygienic and aesthetic standards are upheld throughout the facilities. These duties include sweeping, vacuuming, dust mopping, and mopping floors with an emphasis on corners, baseboards, and high-touch surfaces to curb the spread of germs. The role also involves cleaning and polishing bathroom fixtures and replenishing restrooms with necessary supplies. Maintaining cleanliness in both occupied and unoccupied resident rooms follows specified infection control procedures which support the health and comfort of all residents.
Aside from cleaning duties, this position requires maintaining an organized and secure supply environment by keeping service carts neat and supply closets locked. Regular inspection of assigned areas ensures cleanliness, safety, and operational integrity. The position also involves reporting safety hazards, maintenance needs, or any work-related incidents promptly to ensure the ongoing safety and efficiency of the workplace. Individuals in this role should have a keen eye for detail and be comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.
This position is ideal for candidates who are detail-oriented, able to follow detailed instructions, and who enjoy working in a supportive work culture that prizes respect, safety, and collaboration. The Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia offers a competitive benefits package to full-time employees, including 401(k) with matching, paid time off, comprehensive medical and dental insurance, life insurance, vision insurance, retirement plans, and an employee assistance program. Additional perks include free parking and a welcoming, employee-centered workplace environment. Compensation will be based on the candidate's relevant experience, certifications, skills, and the organization’s operational requirements. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply by submitting their resume via email or by visiting the Convent in person to complete an application.
