The Environmental Health, Safety & Security Specialist at McKesson represents a vital role within this dynamic company. This individual contributor position works directly with Distribution Center (DC) leadership to mitigate risks, prevent injuries among employees and contractors, and protect the safety of people, property, and critical business assets. Ensuring compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, as well as adherence to McKesson's rigorous Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Global Security standards, is central to this role.
The specialist collaborates cross-functionally to integrate safety and security protocols seamlessly into daily operational activities, driving comprehensive initiatives aimed at exceeding industry standards. This role is critical in shaping and sustaining a culture of safety and security through active leadership, regular site audits, risk assessments, and employee training programs. The role also includes responsibilities such as managing hazardous waste compliance, supporting investigations related to product loss or theft, and maintaining relationships with local emergency responders and regulatory agencies.

Job Requirements
- Degree or equivalent
- Four or more years of relevant experience
- Experience with local, state, and federal regulatory compliance such as OSHA, EPA, DOT, FDA, DEA
- Knowledge of physical and electronic security equipment like video and alarm systems
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis experience
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and technology programs
- Strong project management and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate complex issues clearly
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Strong leadership and communication across organizational levels
- Self-motivated and organized
- Ability to handle ambiguity
- Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders

Job Duties
- Serve as the primary liaison between the site and the Global Security & Safety team to ensure alignment with organizational standards
- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with McKesson Global Security & Safety policies and procedures at site level
- Lead initiatives to implement and enforce environmental, health, safety, and security protocols
- Develop risk assessments and mitigation plans based on safety and security data
- Measure site Safety Performance Index and develop action plans
- Drive safety and security culture through site audits and lead the site safety & security committee
- Serve as site Ergonomics Champion
- Design, implement, and track progress on Safety and Security Action Plans
- Lead compliance with physical and electronic security systems
- Conduct safety and security training, monitor training completion, and implement updated training
- Engage proactively with EHS and security initiatives, escalate and troubleshoot issues
- Attend and participate in leadership safety and security meetings
- Partner with Risk Management for claims management and Return to Work processes
- Lead environmental compliance related to hazardous waste and fire code compliance
- Support DSCSA and quality research on product loss or theft
- Liaise with local emergency management and law enforcement agencies
