Located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Ingredion is currently seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to join their onsite team. This pivotal role involves leading and managing comprehensive EHS programs at the Winston-Salem facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager and overseeing a team member, the EHS Manager will be responsible for fostering a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations, including OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and North Carolina Department of Natural Resources requirements. The role demands a strategic leader who can drive continuous improvement in safety, health, environmental stewardship, and security performance through employee engagement, risk reduction, and operational excellence.

This position includes essential responsibilities such as developing and managing emergency response capabilities, overseeing environmental compliance activities such as air and wastewater permits, and conducting thorough incident investigations with corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences. The EHS Manager will collaborate across departments and with union representatives to build trust, enhance safety performance, and implement sustainable initiatives. The salary range for this role is between $102,100 and $136,166 annually, complemented by a competitive total rewards package. Incentive compensation is available through the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or role-specific bonuses. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
  • Significant experience in safety, health, and environmental management in manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment
  • Knowledge of occupational safety, environmental compliance, emergency response, fire prevention, security, and medical response programs
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and develop corrective actions
  • Effective communication skills with employees, leaders, and stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Ability to build and maintain strong employee relations and collaborative working relationships across departments

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Significant experience in safety, health, and environmental management within a manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, evaluate solutions, and implement corrective actions
  • Knowledge of occupational safety, environmental compliance, emergency response, fire prevention, security, and medical response programs
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough incident investigations, determine root causes, develop corrective actions, and effectively communicate findings through presentations and stakeholder engagement

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and initiatives for the site, ensuring a strong safety culture and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, EPA, North Carolina DNR, site security requirements, and workers' compensation laws
  • Direct incident, injury, and root cause investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve workplace safety
  • Oversee environmental compliance activities, including management of Title V air permits, NPDES permits, and other regulatory requirements
  • Lead and develop site emergency response capabilities, including First Aid Responder and Hazmat teams, to ensure operational preparedness
  • Partner with leaders, employees, and union representatives to drive employee engagement, build trust, influence change, and advance proactive safety performance measures
  • Develop and execute strategic safety improvement plans, leveraging strong communication, integrity, and problem-solving skills to achieve company goals and navigate complex business challenges
