The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Leader role at METTLER TOLEDO is a pivotal position focused on developing and executing strategies that improve the EH&S culture within the Masstron Producing Organization. This hands-on and highly visible role requires a proactive leader who will drive all safety initiatives, foster a culture of safety, and ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, including OSHA and Ohio EPA policies. The individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives related to environmental, health, and safety, as well as manage comprehensive safety training programs for new hires, visitors, and employees, encompassing annual OSHA and SafeStart human error reduction training.
Key responsibilities include conducting weekly safety audits, inspections, and drills to maintain a safe and secure facility. The role also involves managing EH&S documentation, government reporting, and monitoring environmental and safety expenses to meet budgetary goals. Building strong working relationships with plant management, supervisors, production teams, and subject matter experts is essential to the role, as is leading an employee-involved Safety Committee and implementing Safety Improvement Plans. Additionally, the position supports sustainability initiatives through involvement with the MT Green team, aiming for goals such as zero waste to landfill and carbon emissions reduction.
This role demands excellent leadership and communication skills, the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams, and strong problem-solving capabilities. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is highly valued, alongside knowledge of EH&S protocols and regulatory standards applicable in manufacturing environments.
