Job Description
8Fleet is a rapidly growing technology and logistics startup based in Los Angeles, dedicated to developing the operational infrastructure for both non-autonomous and future autonomous rideshare fleets. As an innovative and forward-thinking company in the transportation sector, 8Fleet is focused on revolutionizing mobility solutions while ensuring safe, efficient operations across expanding markets. The company culture emphasizes collaboration, agility, and continuous growth, fostering an environment where employees can contribute significantly to shaping the future of rideshare and fleet management. 8Fleet's commitment to technological advancement and operational excellence has positioned it as a key player in the evolving transportation landscape in Los Angeles and beyond.
The role of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator at 8Fleet is a pivotal position designed to uphold and enhance workplace safety standards across multiple operational sites. The EHS Coordinator will work closely with HR and Operations teams to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety programs tailored to the unique challenges of logistics, fleet, and warehouse environments. This full-time position demands a proactive and detail-oriented professional capable of ensuring compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and other regulatory requirements, while actively contributing to a culture of safety. The coordinator will lead various safety initiatives including site inspections, incident investigations, worker's compensation administration, and drug testing coordination.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in environmental health and safety, human resources compliance, or related fields, demonstrating a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and California workplace safety requirements. Experience with workers' compensation claim management and drug and alcohol testing programs will be highly valued. Beyond technical expertise, this role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion. The coordinator will also serve as a key contact for vendors involved in safety and compliance tasks, ensuring smooth communication and coordination.
Additionally, this position includes responsibilities such as conducting routine safety audits, identifying hazards, recommending corrective actions, and maintaining accurate documentation and training records. Physical components of the job include regular walking of garage and depot floors and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, making it suited for candidates who are comfortable with hands-on safety inspections in operational settings.
Embracing 8Fleet's values of diversity and equal opportunity, the company fosters a workplace where every team member is respected and encouraged to grow professionally. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, company holidays, and opportunities for career advancement within the dynamic and fast-growing fleet operations industry. This role is an excellent fit for motivated professionals looking to make a significant impact on safety standards in the logistics and transportation technology space.
