Job Description
Penske Logistics is a global leader in transportation, warehousing, and freight management solutions. Renowned for engineering state-of-the-art logistics services, Penske supports market-leading companies across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. The company focuses on delivering powerful business outcomes by increasing visibility into supply chains and driving down costs. With a commitment to professionalism, safety, and cutting-edge technology, Penske Logistics stands out as a trusted partner in the logistics industry. Penske is recognized for its high standards, excellent equipment, a strong safety record, clear communication, and exceptional management practices. This creates a dynamic, supportive environment for its associates, including the dedicated team of CDL Class A truck drivers it employs nationwide.
The Elite Truck Driver / Traveling Driver - Class A role at Penske Logistics offers an exceptional opportunity for experienced and dependable CDL Class A drivers seeking flexibility, variety, and a chance to contribute in meaningful ways across the company’s operations. Rather than being assigned a single, repetitive route, drivers in this elite team are part of a national response unit deployed to various Penske locations to support critical business operations. Drivers help launch new business, support strategic customers, stabilize and improve performance during special projects, and provide essential flexibility in operational staffing. Assignments typically last a minimum of three weeks with the option to extend, allowing drivers to customize their work schedules to fit their personal and professional goals.
Compensation for this role is highly competitive, with pay starting at $2,350 per travel week, including a $350 per week per diem, plus compensation during home weeks. Drivers receive premium pay for flexible, high-impact work and have the option for one full week off every month. The employment package includes paid vacation and holidays, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans with company contributions, and both short- and long-term disability, life, and AD&D insurance. Company-provided uniforms and safety footwear are included, alongside safety recognition programs and 24/7 driver and roadside assistance. Drivers can also benefit from a referral bonus of up to $5,000.
Drivers in this role use advanced technology such as scanners and onboard systems to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries. They operate well-maintained vehicles equipped with best-in-class safety and comfort features, including inward- and outward-facing in-cab cameras for protection and accountability. The nature of the job can range from high-touch deliveries involving customer interaction to no-touch deliveries requiring specialized equipment, for which training is provided.
This role suits individuals who are adaptable, reliable, and take pride in executing their duties with professionalism and care. Candidates must hold a valid Class A CDL, have at least two years of documented tractor-trailer experience within the last five years, and maintain a clean driving record with no more than two moving violations in the past three years. Hazmat and doubles endorsements are preferred but not required. Importantly, all drivers must be able to work safely, comply with Department of Transportation regulations, and communicate fluently in English. Physical demands include the ability to see, hear, lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and frequently enter and exit the vehicle and cargo area safely.
For truck drivers ready to elevate their careers, this role offers the opportunity to be part of a high-performing, respected team with a nationwide company that values safety, professionalism, and career growth. Penske Logistics provides extensive training and support, helping drivers build a rewarding career with a stable employer. Join Penske Logistics and experience flexibility, strong weekly pay, travel variety, and the chance to make a real impact across different locations and projects.
