The Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Program and Compliance Assurance Leader, Americas plays a crucial role in supporting the company's commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. This leadership position focuses on managing and tracking the implementation of EHS programs, including Process Safety Management (PSM), across locations in the Americas. The role is responsible for providing strategic and tactical direction, technical support, and ensuring adherence to internal and external safety standards and regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and DOT. With up to 50% travel, this role also involves collaboration with multiple stakeholders including plant personnel, leadership teams, and external consultants to enhance process safety and environmental compliance.

In addition to overseeing compliance assurance activities like audits and corrective action tracking, the EHS leader drives the development of a strong safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives across the region. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in EHS management within manufacturing, sound knowledge of environmental laws, and expertise in process safety. They demonstrate an ability to teach, coach, and lead teams while employing data-driven methodologies such as Six Sigma and lean tools to improve safety performance. This full-time, salaried position offers an annual base salary ranging from $123,721.66 to $173,004.99, and includes a performance-based incentive, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to make a significant impact on sustainability and workplace safety at one of the industry’s leading companies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Seven plus years of direct EHS management and supervisory responsibility
  • Proven skills within implementation of complex safety programs and procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, PSM, EPA, and DOT regulations
  • Experience in interpreting local and state environmental and safety standards
  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Safety-sensitive role requiring additional drug screening
  • Ability to work Monday to Thursday onsite and flexible location Friday
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 7 years of direct EHS management and supervisory experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, PSM, EPA, and DOT regulations
  • Proven ability to implement complex safety programs and procedures
  • Safety-related professional certifications preferred (e.g., CHMM, CSP)
  • Strong coaching and teaching skills to support leadership development
  • Familiarity with environmental laws including waste, air, and water regulations
  • Experience integrating EHS into manufacturing processes
  • Proficient computer and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification and knowledge of lean manufacturing tools preferred

Job Duties

  • Manage and implement EHS management system requirements across the Americas region
  • Lead the implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) programs at applicable locations
  • Conduct layered audits in accordance with business operating system (BOS) requirements
  • Provide technical support and strategic direction to advance EHS compliance and performance
  • Develop and coach EHS and business leaders to sustain EHS standard work
  • Coordinate internal and external compliance audits and ensure timely resolution of findings
  • Monitor regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other agencies through systems and processes
  • Support employee engagement and leadership initiatives on safety culture
  • Serve as a liaison between business units, corporate, and service teams
  • Stay current on legislation and technical advances in EHS
  • Support M&A activities as assigned
