This position is an entry-level Echo Sonographer I role, designed for individuals passionate about the highest quality and patient satisfaction within a top-ranking hospital environment. The role involves assisting physicians in the performance of basic echocardiographic imaging and other related procedures using ultrasound imaging technologies suited for both inpatient and outpatient cardiac patients. The ideal candidate will receive mentorship to become proficient in utilizing all related ultrasound equipment and adhering to established imaging protocols. The Echo Sonographer I ensures patient safety, prepares and maintains equipment and rooms for procedures, and plays a critical role in supporting physicians by identifying issues related to blood flow and heart ailments.

In this role, you will perform basic echocardiographic imaging adhering to safety, productivity, and quality standards set by departmental accrediting agencies. You will assist in performing preliminary interpretations of 2D/Doppler studies, pericardiocentesis, bubble and contrast studies and prepare initial reports for physician review. The role also involves educating patients and their families about procedures and preparing patients for tests. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team including attending physicians, residents, clinicians, and peers to ensure seamless echocardiography services. Maintaining accurate records, entering patient data, and adhering to sterile protocols and radiation safety guidelines are essential components of this position.

Additional responsibilities include validating equipment functionality daily, cleaning and restoring equipment after use, and assisting with the development of guidelines to ensure ongoing laboratory operational excellence and diagnostic quality. This role provides a vital first-pass assessment of patients and ensures critical findings are promptly communicated to the appropriate healthcare providers.
